Cantine Antonio Jelasi has been producing Passito Greco di Bianco since 1881, coming from the vines of the coastal strip of Reggio on the Ionian side in the territory of Bianco (RC), from which it takes its name.
This wine has ancient winemaking roots, with the characteristic orange blossom scent. The ancient winemaking process described in The Works and Days of the Greek poet Hesiod in the 7th century. A.C., is still today the basis of the processing of the grapes with which Greco di Bianco DOC is produced, a unique wine both from an oenological, viticultural, historical and gastronomic point of view.
Tradition dictates which originates from a vine branch brought by Greek colonists who landed in the 8th century BC. near Capo Capo Bruzzano).
The Greek is the vine, which stands out because it is different in the structure and shape of the bunch: medium or large, rather short, semi-sparse and equipped with one or two wings, with medium berries with thick and slightly pruinous skin, golden yellow in colour. It is produced in Bianco, the town overlooking the ancient ""Jasmine Riviera"", and where even today, after hundreds of years, this grape still survives
