GlobE GlocaL Market

GlobE GlocaL Market

Globe is an Idea that changes and transforms, it is a Concept Store with an Eco-sustainable development plan.

We work with the creation of fashion and craftsmanship in some countries of the world, collaborating with small artisans who carry out important ethical projects for the global and local environment, and we produce in Tarifa in our small tailor shop, limited editions, unique upcycling pieces mixing local vintage fabrics and those from different countries around the world.

My name is Giuoco Alessia, I am a small Italian entrepreneur who has been working in Spain for over twenty years.

During the first years of my professional career as an artisan and importer, I dedicated myself to working with Africa, in particular with Mali, with which I established a very intense professional and personal relationship and which I continue to cultivate today. For 11 years I travel in winter in West Africa searching for ever new treasures and collaborations that I propose in my shop in Tarifa.

In 2019 I decide to expand my research to other countries and continents, my goal is to propose always little seen and known products, and give visibility to distant cultures, through the work of small artisans and traders, with whom I maintain a close relationship of continuous collaboration. In 2020 I decide to open a small tailor's shop in Tarifa with a friend, to give life to our KM 0 slow fashion collections made in Spain.

GlobE was born with a new concept and projected into the future, it presents itself as a Glocal Market.

From a social and cultural point of view, the term Glocal must be understood as a mixture of typical elements of globalization and local values peculiar to each surrounding area. The roots of different and distant indigenous peoples combine with local concepts of craftsmanship and Slow Made in Spain production: one of our identifying pillars is the transformation of Vintage or Indigenous products in Tarifa, where our physical store and our small tailor shop. We currently work with 7 countries and with each one we complete an eco-sustainable project: the ethical production of our small fashion collections, the recovery of vintage, artisanal or ancient fabrics used for upcycling productions made in Tarifa (silk from ancient Saris, antique Huipiles from Guatemala, Berber carpets from Morocco are some examples..), or recycling of disused materials (our stainless steel collection produced in Kashmir is an excellent example). My constant research into the ethnic symbolism and protection also moves above all into the collection of unique jewels, amulets, talismans and ancient exchange coins (trade beads) from different continents and cultures, which come together in always unique creations.< /p>
