La bottega dell'arte di Roberta Casu

La bottega dell'arte di Roberta Casu

La bottega dell'arte was born in 2001 after finishing his studies at the Oristano Art Institute. Among the various techniques acquired, I became passionate and interested in perforated ceramics and created a line inspired by my homeland, Sardinia. In these years I have always felt the connection by wanting to stay in my small town where I have the laboratory and discovering all its traditions. My work recites the legends of the ancient Sardinian stories, told from generation to generation which are called janas. The janas are those little women who live inside cavities dug into the rock (known in Sardinia as Domus de janas) more than 3000 years ago, they monitor entire towns and are seen by the inhabitants as witches or fairies, it all depends on how they relate to them. The motifs created in these cavities, which are nothing more than pre-Nuragic necropolises, are of different variety and colour: this is why my jeans wear a curled hat like a witch with different moods. Subsequently I also included gnomes, angels and various animals in my production.
