Fabbrica Tessile Bossio

The Bossio textile factory was born in 1966 in Bocchigliero, in the province of Cosenza, and then moved to the current headquarters of Calopezzi at the end of the 1970s. The foundations of our company rest on the solid foundations of a family tradition handed down from generation to generation, within a territory in which the textile craftsmanship has always permeated collective life. The art of weaving, for the Greek countries of Calabria, has in fact always owned strong symbolic and social values, especially within the female universe, for which it has represented an important moment of sharing and socialization. The colors of the Mediterranean landscape dominate the scene, the geometric designs tell of secret Byzantine codes, the natural yarns express a land in which the crops of the mulberry, linen, hemp and wild ginestra characterized the landscapes and our economies. The wealth of this family and territorial heritage is found in unique products, in which every detail is subject to a cure that only the artisanal processing can provide. Throughout our textile production relives the combination of tradition and modernity: ancient designs handed down from generation to generation and the comfort of modern manufactures. The ancient drawings, developed for hand chassis, know a new size in the processing on mechanical frames. Thoroughly studied models and lines, the result of an open research. The attention to detail and the uniqueness of each artifact are synonymous with an exclusively artisan product. A slow and versatile production, strongly marked by territorial identity and intended for demanding, national and international customers, attentive to the sustainability of production processes and the naturalness of the product. In our workshops, it is possible to hear the typical ""Tricchi Tucchi"" resonate among the spoles of the wooden frames, which weave the traditional threads of Ginestra, linen, hemp and silk, next to the sounds of the most modern mechanical frames that elaborate tissues that reproduce the Ancient designs of the Greek, Arab and Byzantine tradition.
