IL GALEONE

Galeone was born in 1998 thanks to the union of Giovanna and Federico both goldsmiths dependent on two different masters. What pushed them to undertake this adventure was the desire to create jewels of its own imagination intended for a niche audience that knows how to appreciate originality and artisan manufacture. Giovanna, pure artist and coming from the sculpture school invents designs and forms of his own imagination: from an early age he had fun making earrings and pins of salt or fimo pasta, thus demonstrating that he has the passion for goldsmiths inside, in fact to Age of sixteen years he began to attend the laboratory of Maestro Passerini of Siena, dedicating his passion every afternoon of the following school. The experience gained in the workshop and the encouragement of his teacher pushes her to ""put on his own"" starting to make jewels in his cellar and sell them in the fairs and local markets. Soon Giovanna's skills allow her to open a real laboratory-Botterga in Siena giving it the name ""Il Galeone"" inspired by an old trunk found in the shop and which will become the first showcase of its jewels. Giovanna begins to make a fixed clientele, without however neglecting markets and fairs. The meeting with Federico takes place in one of these fairs thanks to sharing for the same passion: the goldsmith's. Soon the two begin to collaborate and open their shop in the historic center of Siena. Federico's entrepreneurial ability to Federico's entrepreneurial skills allow their business to have a progressive development both in their shop with the increase in customers, and participating in increasingly important fairs of national and international recall; In fact, in 2004 they assume an employee: Caterina, which allows them to increase production and be able to start selling some lines of products to shopkeepers. The ""Il Galeone"" company tries to contrast the international crisis and the goldsmith sector by offering jewels of different price ranges: with a nice silver pendant also suitable for young people, to the ""sculpture jewel"" in gold and diamonds that only a passionate and wealthy Customer can appreciate. The other characteristics that allow us to have a progressive development are the continuous study of new drawings and the search for new work tools that improve productivity, but that allow us to use traditional techniques that do not remove the ""taste"" artisan to all our jewels. Participation in various crafts exhibitions allowed them to S to a great and very important audience, as well as to confront other companies of larger development. In 2015 Giovanna and Federico received the certificate of master craftsmen from the Tuscany Region, in 2018 the O.M.A. : Observatory of the crafts of art recognizes the galleon in Italian artisan excellence. Their activity continues in their workshops in Siena and Florence.
