Good afternoon.

My name is Ciocinta-Birsan Magdalena, I am of Romanian nationality and I have lived in Padua for 24 years.

My passion was born at the age of 4. My grandmother was my source of inspiration, I still remember how it was today that she was dozing while working pairs of socks with 5 small needles for his 15 grandchildren, and this is how I inherited this wonderful gift of his. I have been a knitter for 45 years.

I have done many humble jobs, but never enough to raise my children in peace.

 This wonderful job has allowed me to to supplement my small salary.

I arrived here in Italy in 2000, without my children, with the desire to build a better future for them  .

I lived  with my sister, in via Portello  in Padua, on the corner of the street there was a haberdashery owned by Mrs. Lidia, a petite, sweet  kind woman. rare with a big heart, the mother of the deputy Elisabetta Gardini, who I had grown fond of and that's how, upon entering her shop looking for work, I asked her if someone among her customers was looking for a knitter for some work and I left her my phone number.

One day a phone call came from a customer who wanted a Missoni wool sweater that he had purchased in Mrs. Lidia's shop. Thanks to her trust, I had earned the first money that I sent to Romania to my children.

Sometimes Mrs. Lidia gave me some wool that she made by combining  several fine yarns and told me to make something to display in your shop window. Sometimes I stopped by her shop, sitting on a chair knitting a scarf and always with her sweet eyes on me. Yes, she was enchanted by looking at me, like my grandmother did in her time.

But all this little work wasn't enough and so I went to the Geriatric hospital in Padua every morning to ask if there was any need for a girl as an assistant for some soul in suffering.

For months I assisted people with terminal illnesses until the last day of their lives, some nights to stay awake I also brought something to knit of course.

After a short time I found work as a carer in a wonderful family of three siblings Walter, Vilma and Iole Buggin.

Their family became my family.  For them I was the daughter they had always wanted, which they never had. After a year I went to Romania and brought my children here to Italy.

For 8 years I was a carer until 2008 when my employer (my dear father) acquired Walter )she left in the same summer.

She was still without a job, but never without hope.

Not finding a job  I started creating caps and I asked the shops if they wanted to buy them.

Little by little I managed to get up and start from scratch for the umpteenth time.

For two years I have decided to open a VAT number and I hope to be able to open an online shop.

 I don't have a shop, I do markets, so I can sell my clothes.

I put a lot of love into everything I do. My atelier is at my house in a small room, with my sewing machine for furs and with many shelves full of wool and accessories.

Certain articles are created precisely from recycled garments such as the furs that everyone has in their wardrobe and don't know what to do with.

 In life I have learned that everything can be recovered by giving you a new life .

 The world is full of unused garments that pollute our planet.

The materials I use are fine stock yarns (as Mrs. Lidia taught me   a long time ago, in his unique haberdashery in Padua, you could find the right and unique yarn for each special customer), accessories such as vintage buttons, Swarovski crystals, natural pearls, velvet, trimmings years ago 50 and linings in the evening  which I find and with which I make my garments.

My products are unique pieces:

hats, scarves, gloves, fur hats, coats, men's sweaters -women,  bags in recycled wool and fur,  garments for children (blanket, hats and sweaters) fur vests, wool and fur ponchos and much more.
