FRANTOIO PERRE
The ""Frantoio Perre"" company represents a small reality in the heart of Aspromonte, in the municipality of Platì, in the Cirella district. This company deals with the pressing of olives and the bottling of extra virgin olive oil. The company was born from the idea of Domenico Perre who, in 1964, began the business with the first oil mill and the purchase of the olive groves. Over the years, this company has established itself among the most important producers of extra virgin olive oil in the area, and is today looked after by its children. The olive groves extend over approximately two hundred hectares of land, counting more than 20,000 olive trees. The lands are located in one of the most fascinating protected parks in Calabria, the Aspromonte National Park which can count on 40 thousand hectares of wooded area and a significant variety, in terms of size and rarity, of animal and plant species. The distinctive and unique territory allowed the birth of this company and the sale of its products on the market. The company deals with the production and bottling of extra virgin olive oil from Geracese and Cultivar Ottobratica, with olive groves cultivated between Ardore (RC), Platì (RC) and Ciminà (RC). The company is on the market under the brand ""Frantoio Perre"" and in addition to reselling in the neighboring territories it can also be found in supermarkets and restaurants in northern Italy, such as in Lombardy, Piedmont, Veneto and Liguria. Furthermore, regarding the foreign market, the company ships its products to Canada, the United States, Australia, Germany, France, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Holland, Denmark, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Ukraine and Romania. The presence of many foreign buyers is due to the fact of the 100% Made in Italy certification, which guarantees a unique and distinctive quality. A very important characteristic that this company has is the certification of organic oil. The great advantage of organic is the guarantee of a product that respects the environment, healthy and certainly more natural than products treated with chemical substances. Furthermore, the olives are mechanically harvested and cold milled within twenty-four hours of harvesting. The storage environment is dark, dry, in stainless steel containers with no air to avoid oxidation. To reduce the environmental impact and to avoid waste disposal, the company is also equipped with a pitting machine which recovers the stones from the olive pomace and transforms them into (natural) pellets, suitable for heating via stoves.
