The La Spina Santa agritourism company was founded in 1989 and has evolved over the years, maintaining over time the care and craftsmanship in the production, harvesting and processing of raw materials; today it offers a wide range of Calabrian liqueurs, sweets and Calabrian bergamot specialties typical of the area.
Known as the gold of Calabria, the Calabrian bergamot is a fruit similar to an orange but with a color that varies from green to yellow based on the state of ripeness. In 2001, Calabrian bergamot obtained DOP recognition.
The essential oil of bergamot extracted from the peel is a precious ingredient in the food and confectionery industry, where it is used as a flavoring of liqueurs, sweets and drinks, but it is also widely used in the perfume and pharmaceutical industries.
Among our many Calabrian liqueurs, Kaciuto stands out as a digestive bitter made from fennel, bay leaves, liquorice and bergamot, while Bergotto, a soda drink that we produce with a good dose of juice and essence of Calabrian bergamot is a fresh, thirst-quenching and digestive.
