Officina Eleatica is an artisan laboratory that in Ascea, in the province of Salerno, produces cosmetics with vegetable raw materials derived from fresh officinal plants, spontaneous or cultivated, of the Cilento National Park, Vallo di Diano and Alburni. He was born from the entrepreneurial idea of ​​Gloria Alfano and Nicola De Luca, two young pharmacists who, after training at the University of Siena, decide to make use of the skills acquired by starting an activity in their land, Cilento, of which they are lovers. The territory of the Cilento park, in whose rivers still swims the otter, has been inserted by UNESCO since 1997 among the reserves of the biosphere for the wealth of faunistic and botanical endemisms of the Apennines, including the primula of Palinuro, a symbol of the Park. In addition, UNESCO has identified in Cilento one of the four communities of reference for the Mediterranean diet, an immaterial heritage of humanity since 2010, while the archaeological sites of Paestum and Velia (Ascea), testimony of the civilization of Magna Graecia, are recognized as World Heritage. To this capital of history and culture Officina Eleatica wanted to refer to its name, which recalls the Eleatic Medical-Filosophical School founded in Ascea by Parmenides and its tradition of using spontaneous medicinal plants, generously offered by the Cilento area, biodiversity cradle of biodiversityFrom raw materials to the finished product all strictly made in Cilento and handcrafted produced.
